INFECTIOUS DISEASE EPIDEMIOLOGIST

The University of Southern California, Keck School of Medicine, Department of Population and Public Health Sciences is seeking a fulltime Associate Professor of Research, Population and Public Health Sciences. The candidate will be expected to conduct studies in infectious disease epidemiology, locally and/or globally, including a focus on COVID-19, HIV infection, sexually transmitted infections and translational implications and impacts.  The successful candidate will have a demonstrated history of obtaining extramural funding and the ability to teach graduate-level epidemiology courses. Candidates should be able to develop and maintain an independent research program focusing on infectious disease, associated risks and inequities, interventions, global health, and health policy; and collaborate with the USC Institute on Inequalities in Global Health and the newly established Population Health COVID-19 Pandemic Research Center.   

Minimum Qualifications include having a PhD in epidemiology or related field, or MD with training in epidemiology, with at least ten years of research experience. Successful candidates will have a demonstrated track record of acquiring extramural funding for their research, collaborating with other researchers (including researchers outside the United States), and addressing infectious disease outcomes and inequalities in their work.  Candidates should possess excellent interpersonal, leadership and organizational skills.
