Budget/ Business Technician

Molecular Microbiology and Immunology Los Angeles, California

The Department of Molecular Microbiology and Immunology at the Keck School of Medicine, located in the Health Science Campus, is

seeking an Budget Business Technician to support the day to day financial administrative operations in the department office. Duties will include,
but are not limited to:

Assists in the set up, maintenance and monitoring of department accounts

Inputs financial data to ledgers or departmental accounting systems

Reconciles internal records to university financial system ASR's

Monitors blanket requisition charges and itemizes expenses

Monitors and/or controls expenditures for intercampus and external vendors

Equipment Inventory, purchases, and obtains maintenance contracts

Interacts with university financial offices to exchange information and resolve problems

Assists in the preparation of periodic financial reports for internal and/or external use

Performs other related duties as assigned or requested. The department reserves the right to add or change duties at any time


Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree
Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Experience: 3 years
Requires excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, using judgment and discretion. Broad knowledge
of relevant research computer software, such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Internet search tools. Must be able to utilize
computer technology to access data, maintain records and generate reports. Proficient with spreadsheets and in accounting skills


Performs a combination of duties related to the processing and monitoring of business transactions for an academic, research, administrative or auxiliary department
