The Department of Ophthalmology/Roski Eye Institute, Keck School of Medicine of USC, is seeking two (2) part-time Optometrists at the assistant professor level to join our department. The successful candidates will have the academic title of Clinical Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology (Part-Time). Candidates are expected to provide high-quality optometry services in one of our department’s satellite clinics.

General Description:   

Optometrists are primary eye health care providers who examine, diagnose, treat, and manage diseases and disorders of the eye with the use of prescription glasses, contact lenses, devices, and medications.

Functions:

The specific functions will be in accordance with the Scope of Practice of Optometrists at Keck Medicine of USC.

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Obtained a Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited School of Optometry.
  • Hold a current valid license from the California Board of Optometry.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Completion of a one-year residency program.
  • Experience in ophthalmology, private practice, or academic environment.

Non-Exempt Position

The part-time faculty position is non-exempt, with an hourly rate ranging from $48.00–$52.88 per hour.
