The Department of Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of the University of Southern California is seeking an outstanding applicant to fill a Nurse Practitioner position in the Division of Endocrinology and Diabetes. Under general supervision and in accordance with standardized procedures, the nurse practitioner’s clinical duties with be part of the metabolic disease initiative and weight management of type 2 diabetes patients in the ambulatory setting. Clinical setting will be at two different Keck Medicine locations, the Los Angeles and Pasadena offices. The position involves physical examinations and treating diabetes mellitus and associated comorbidities, educating patients and families, and monitoring patient progress. The nurse practitioner will work at with the academic medical center in collaboration with other health care team members, consulting and referring as appropriate, but will retain responsibility for ongoing clinical management of diabetes patients. Successful candidates will have strong clinical skills and an interest in serving a diverse patient population in both inpatient and outpatient clinical practice. This is a practitioner position; you will not be teaching NP students.
Minimum Field of Expertise: Possession of current certificate of completion from a Nurse Practitioner program. Certified Diabetes Care and Education Specialist (CDCES) designation preferred. Current and valid California State RN and Nurse Practitioner licenses, Basic Cardiac Life Support certification, clinical nursing experience. The annual base salary range for this position is $150,000 - $175,000.
