Director of Development, USC Lusk Center for Real Estate

Los Angeles, California

The USC Lusk Center for Real Estate seeks to advance real estate knowledge, inform business practice, and address issues that affect the real estate industry, the urban economy, and public policy. Operating jointly with the USC Marshall School of Business and the USC Sol Price School of Public Policy, the Lusk Center produces relevant and timely real estate research, supports educational programs for students and executives, and convenes professional forums that bring together academics, students, as well as business and community leaders.

The Lusk Center has an immediate opening for a Director of Development. This is a one year, renewable fixed-term position. Responsibilities include: planning, organizing, and directing the Center’s fundraising efforts.

  • Identification, research, and cultivation of prospective donors, including growing advisory board membership
  • Oversee sponsorships for Center events, including cultivation, solicitation and recognition of sponsorship gifts
  • Growing annual support as well as endowment fund for the Ross Minority Program in Real Estate
  • Oversee grant seeking including researching prospective organizations and proposal writing
  • Advisory board communications and meeting support
  • Identification of prospects for cultivation of major gifts
  • Contribute to marketing and communication efforts in support of development activity, including digital marketing and PR
  • Coordinate and provide support for events, in collaboration with other fundraising staff

Preferred Experience:

Experience in or strong knowledge of the commercial real estate industry or related field. Communications and/or marketing. Strong interpersonal and writing skills.
