Division of Hepatobiliary, Pancreas, and Abdominal Organ Transplant Surgery Assistant or Associate Professor of Clinical Surgery

The Division of Hepatobiliary and Pancreatic Surgery and Abdominal Organ Transplantation in the Department of Surgery at Keck Medicine of the University of Southern California is inviting applicants for the position of Transplant Surgeon at the academic rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Surgery. 

Opportunity details:

  • The qualified candidate should possess clinical expertise in abdominal organ transplantation, particularly in liver transplantation, kidney and pancreas transplant and laparoscopic donor nephrectomies. Experience in split liver donor procurement as well as living donor hepatectomy and living donor liver transplant is highly desired.
  • The selected candidate will be responsible for providing clinical expertise in patient care management, teaching fellows, collaborating in research, and continuing education.
  • The position will be primarily based at Keck Hospital of USC and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles (CHLA) and may include supporting services at satellite locations, including coverage of Hepatobiliary Surgery at LA General Medical Center.
  • Prospective candidates will have completed an ASTS-accredited Abdominal Transplantation fellowship, be certified by the American Board of Surgery, be eligible to work in the United States, and be eligible for licensure in the state of California.

The annual base salary range for this position is $350,000-$600,000.  When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
