We are currently seeking an IT Business Analyst to join our Business Strategy and Applications department. The IT Business Analyst will be responsible for supporting the design and development of data and reports for business and academic systems. He/she will be tasked with assisting in the facilitation of design sessions with the implementation teams to define solutions and create, analyze and validate detailed functional specifications. This position will also be tasked with production support processes.
The successful candidate will be responsible for understanding IT Business requirements for a variety of data system processes and applications, documenting and updating systems specifications, and serving as a liaison between the customer community and the software development team to implement technology solutions and support production processes. The IT Business Analyst position would be on a career path to grow and become a senior member of our team and subject matter expert on modules/feature sets of our systems.
The successful candidate must have at least two years in a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst role. Experience with data, reporting and analytics, including dashboards, reports and spreadsheets is strongly preferred.

Must have a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Minimum of 2 years of directly related experience in a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst role.

Demonstrated knowledge of requirements gathering and documentation procedures.
Demonstrated knowledge of project management methodologies.
Typically possesses experience with process flow charting and testing processes

Meets with customer groups to determine IT business requirements.
Elicits requirements using interviews, document analysis, workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, and task and workflow analysis.
Provides information to developers and subject matter experts for the establishment of the technical vision and performance needs.
Serves as the conduit between the customer community (internal and external customers) and the software development or business process re-engineering team through which requirements flow
Develops requirements specifications according to standard templates.
Participates in project meetings to review project deliverables and timelines.
Works with quality assurance personnel to ensure product adequately meets all functional needs defined in scope of project.
Participates in testing developed software or new process flow.
