Loan Servicing Representative

Collections/Loan Services Los Angeles, California

USC Credit Union, a dynamic $512 million credit union located steps from USC’s University Park campus near Downtown Los Angeles, is looking for an experienced Loan Servicing Representative for its Collections department.  This position reports directly to the AVP of Collections and is responsible for assisting members and staff by performing a wide variety of clerical and administrative activities to servicing consumer and real estate loans. The Loan Servicing Representative gathers and analyzes member data at the time of each interaction to respond to inquiries and offer customized solutions using in-depth knowledge of USCCU products, services and technologies.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Consistently meeting established performance standards and service standards
  • Timely and accurately processes loan transactions for payments, payoffs, CPI insurance refunds and add-ons, negative share write –offs, and monthly consumer loan charge-offs
  • Assist DMV specialist with functions including releasing paid-in-full titles, perfecting titles on new loans and filing gap insurance claims
  • Serves members and staff by answering inquiries and resolving issues related to the credit bureau disputes filed by agencies
  • Researches and contacts third parties for additional information, verification of payoff settlements and to make corrections to files as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, regulatory requirements, policies and procedures as they relate to USCCU’s products and services
  • Participate in special projects and perform other duties and assignments as needed

The ideal candidate will:

  • Possess a Bachelor’s degree
  • Have a minimum of two years’ experience in a credit union or other financial institutions
  • In depth knowledge of loan documentation policies and procedures and working knowledge of DMV procedures
  • Be flexible with scheduling that may include occasional Saturday hours and weekday afternoon/evening hours
  • Possess a high sense of urgency, attention to detail, initiative and integrity
  • Have exceptional interpersonal, customer service and communication skills
  • Pass a pre-employment background and credit check

Minimum Education: High school or equivalent
Minimum Experience: 2 years
