Keck Medicine of USC

Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. It also includes more than 40 outpatient facilities, some at affiliated hospitals, in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Tulare and Ventura counties.

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC among the Top 10 hospitals in the state and among the Top 50 hospitals in the United States in seven specialties: ophthalmology, urology, cancer, geriatrics, orthopedic surgery, nephrology and cardiology and heart surgery.

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree. Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education.

Preferred Education:

  • Masters Degree

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • 3 Years - Combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education.

Minimum Field of Expertise:

  • Thorough knowledge of marketing and business management. Knowledge of the principles, practices, concepts and methodology of marketing. Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Experience

  • Prefer supervisory experience and give years' experience in communication, marketing, publications, public relations, advertising or related field.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in verbal and written communication skills, initiative, project management and client service.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively under the pressure of last-minute deadlines and changing priorities.
  • Strong writing, proofreading and editing abilities.
  • Creativity and understanding of design, layout and photography.
  • Understanding of analytics and measurements of the success of programs.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work collaboratively.
  • Combined experience/education may substitute for minimum education.

Reporting to the director of content strategy and management, the assistant director of editorial services has primary responsibility for optimizing written communication for Keck Medicine of USC, including the Keck School of Medicine of USC. Ensures effective messaging through both written and visual communication to target audiences.
