Marketing Administrator, Graduate and International Programs

Gould School of Law Los Angeles, California

As a member of the USC Gould School of Law’s Graduate and International Programs, the Marketing Administrator is instrumental to the advancement, promotion and growth of the law school’s programs. Working closely and collaboratively with the graduate marketing team, this position plays a lead role in outreach and marketing efforts; oversees day-to-day promotional activities, including digital and social media; manages website content; engages with key partners and stakeholders; and develops content and messaging, among other vital tasks.

In addition, the Marketing Administrator contributes as an important strategist for the law school, taking a project from ideation through fruition, analysis and reporting. Skills in target audience identification, collaborative brainstorming and developing visual assets will help to drive new degree program awareness and success.

Successful candidates will have demonstrated proficiencies and strong interest in marketing and outreach; excellent written and verbal skills; collaborative nature; experience in storytelling; ability to balance short-term and long-term priorities; willingness to learn and develop new professional skills; and genuine interest in advancing academic programs and engaging all levels of stakeholders, from students to faculty to staff.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in communications and marketing, including in a higher education setting

  • Practiced storyteller, with the goal of engaging diverse audiences

  • Proficient in using digital tools, including e-newsletter platforms, social media, and design platforms. Slate experience preferred, but not required.

  • Experience editing, designing and/or developing content for promotional collateral

  • Experience in consulting and engaging directly with programmatic stakeholders

  • Ability to manage complex projects and balance with short-term priorities, operating within a team while accomplishing individual tasks

  • High level of professionalism and openness to collaboration

  • High level of organization and ability to multitask

  • Ability to evaluate challenges critically and develop actionable solutions

Job Accountabilities:

  • Develops, produces, and distributes promotional materials for program marketing, in consultation with staff leads from the Graduate & International Programs Office.

  • Prepares and strategizes materials to promote programs and activities, for example: newsletters, digital and print ads, flyers, and social media assets.

  • Monitors performance data, with an attention to trends and actionable recommendations.

  • Supports and/or may help deliver presentations on occasion, as required.

  • Assists staff leads with determining target audience understanding and measurable ROI on advertising spend.

  • Engages law school faculty, staff, students, and administrators to source valuable story concepts/messaging opportunities for website and newsletter content.

  • Coordinates with vendors on related services and collaborates with Gould Budget Office on business processes.

  • Will assist with final exam administration, orientation and proctoring during the Fall and Spring semesters and commencement each year.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. The university reserves the right to add or change duties at any time.

The annual base salary range for this position is $75,134.23 - $81,000.
