Open-Rank Adjunct Professor of Animation and Digital Arts –Fundamentals of 2D Animation

The USC’s School of Cinematic Arts, John C. Hench Division of Animation and Digital Arts is seeking applicants for an open-rank adjunct faculty position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor level, dependent upon experience to teach the fundamentals of 2D animation. This position starts Fall 2022 semester.
Qualified candidates must be a working professional with extensive experience at major animation studios as a 2D character animator on animated features and/or television series. Candidates should be currently engaged in the entertainment industry and possess first-hand knowledge as an animator working in 2D digital animation using TV Paint on animated features and/or television series. Industry experience in animating action scenes, lip-sync, bipeds and quadrupeds is required. Previous teaching experience is preferred. Minimum Education: BA or BFA degree from an accredited university in a related field
Minimum Experience: 5 years of professional experience as a 2D character animator on feature and/or TV animation for major studios
Preferred Education: MFA degree from an accredited university in a related field
Preferred Experience: 8 years of professional experience as a CG character animator on feature and/or TV animation for major studios. Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the college level.
