Part-Time Lecturer, Architectural Lighting Design

The USC School of Architecture invites applicants for a part-time faculty position in Architectural Lighting Design for Fall 2024. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to teach graduate-level technical seminar courses on the artistic, scientific, and architectural aspects of lighting design. Candidates must demonstrate an understanding of the state of the art of daylighting and electric lighting as well as current code requirements, human factors considerations, controls, energy standards, and sustainability performance criteria.

Candidates must demonstrate the ability to apply appropriate quantitative analysis techniques, (including appropriate software-based analysis tools) in the context of the architectural design process. Experience with contemporary lighting simulation software tools is preferred.

The core salary range for this position is $48.00 - $66.41 per hour. This is a part-time, 37.5% position.

Qualifications: A Master of Building Science degree, Master of Architecture degree or equivalent is required. Preference is given to candidates with a proven track record of research and or related professional work or prior teaching experience at recognized schools of architecture.
