Postdoctoral Scholar-Research Associate

Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, California

The USC Institute of Urology is seeking a postdoctoral fellow to work under the direct supervision of Dr. Gangning Liang at the USC Institute of Urology, USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, and University of Southern California. This is a two year fixed-term position. The Postdoctoral Scholar will work on research project focusing on studying the molecular mechanisms driving the recruitment of chromatin modifiers to the chromatin in Cancer (Li et al, Cell Report, 2023, Zhou et al, Cancer Research in press, Li et al, Nature Communications, 2022). Our Lab is using and developing cutting edge experimental and computational methods based on molecular biology and next-generation sequencing. Candidates with strong background in epigenetics, genomics and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. We would like the applicant to have knowledge of epigenetics, genomics, genetics and cell biology as it would be an asset. Background in ChIP-sequencing is a definite asset. The applicant must have demonstrated excellent publication record of scientific achievement. The applicant should have experience with analytic tools such as R or Matlab along with excellent verbal and written communication skills. We are seeking for a highly motivated and self-driven to address challenging questions in the field of epigenomics. This will be a two year fixed term position.

The base salary for this position is $70,000 - $80,327. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
