Keck Medicine of USC

Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. It also includes more than 40 outpatient facilities, some at affiliated hospitals, in Los Angeles, Orange, Kern, Tulare and Ventura counties.

In 2016, U.S. News & World Report ranked Keck Medical Center of USC among the Top 10 hospitals in the state and among the Top 50 hospitals in the United States in seven specialties: ophthalmology, urology, cancer, geriatrics, orthopedic surgery, nephrology and cardiology and heart surgery.

Program Coordinator - KH Spine Service Line Development - Full Time 8 Hour Days, Salary (Non-Union)

Minimum Education:

  • A bachelor's degree in business administration, public policy or public administration is required (experience may substitute)

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:

  • Proven experience as a program coordinator or relevant position preferred.
  • 2+ years experience in acute care or ambulatory care setting preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred. 
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Project, PowerPoint) required.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills, including ability to analyze patient data from multiple systems preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects. Strong time management skills required.
  • Must have the ability to demonstrate sound judgment and to problem solve.
  • Exceptional ability to communicate and work with a variety of professionals including physicians, physician chairs, researchers, managers, administrators and external publics.
  • Must be able to work some evenings.
  • Must be able to travel outside of the office
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a CA Driver’s license with a clean driving record

Required License/Certification:

  • Fire and Safety Certification.  If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire, and maintained by renewal before expiration date. 

The Spine Program Coordinator is responsible for supporting, planning, executing, implementing, and sustaining all department priorities, including administrative tasks and day to day operations for the USC Spine Center. The Spine Program Coordinator will work under the direction of the Director, Spine Program Development to support the spine program and service line development opportunities for the USC Spine Center. The Program Coordinator must have excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational and analytical skills. The coordinator will be responsible for completing reports daily, weekly, monthly and annually to showcase the growth and benefits of the program across the organization. This position coordinates special events, facilitates spine program outreach and supports projects for the USC Spine Center. Assists in the administration and coordination of a variety of functions including planning, organizing, implementing, research, and delivery of services. Possesses the flexibility to manage difficult situations and multi task effectively in a fast paced environment. Coordinates outreach to grow and market program through strategic initiatives. Assists Director with on-boarding of new physician faculty and program marketing. The position will ensure appropriate follow-up and communication to referring physicians in order to improve operational efficiency and patient experience, consistently striving to increase the referral base for the USC Spine Center. They will grow the service lines via outreach to potential referring physicians in the market. They will strengthen services rendered by providing for the coordinated delivery of care for patients from point of entry into the system, through their treatment.
