Project Specialist - Administrative

The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging (INI, www.ini.usc.edu) are world leaders in the development of advanced computational and scientific approaches for the comprehensive mapping of brain structure and function. LONI’s unique multidisciplinary environment and cutting edge resources allow for integration of clinical, psychological and genotypic information with neuroimaging phenotypes for research questions in neurology, psychiatry and developmental neurobiology.

The USC Mark and Mary Stevens Neuroimaging and Informatics Institute and Laboratory of Neuro Imaging is looking for a full-time Project Specialist Administrative assistant. This position will be in charge of multiple projects hosted by the Image Data Archive (IDA)

  • Works with PI to plan and develop study SOPs, data collection and training activities. Participates in planning and ongoing meetings, study amendment planning and implementation discussions.
  • Identifies and assesses data collection requirements, develops data collection system specifications and oversees or personally configures data collection systems to meet current and future needs of sponsored projects via review of study protocols, case report forms, data dictionaries, informed consents, data use agreements and any other study-related documentation.
  • Defines, executes and documents procedures for testing new/revised database application features. Considers the impact to end-users, recommends changes and enhancements to the development team, and documents/communicates changes.
  • Develops and administers policies and procedures related to data access, disaster recovery, end-user resources, and internal operations.  Responds to external information requests.  Develops and posts news releases via website.
  • Resolves data flow issues across multiple platforms. Evaluates issues to identify trends and recommend enhancements to procedures, systems and/or resources.  Reports findings to study leadership teams and/or requests changes from appropriate teams.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in human subject protection, data collection and data sharing policies.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to provide guidance and help oversee data collection and quality control activities
  • Ability to find logical relationships between data
  • Use of presentation software
  • Proactively evaluate and identify data conversion, quality or validity issues

REQUIREMENTS & QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum Education: Bachelor's Degree (Master's Preferred)
  • Experience: 3 years experience (preferred) in project management (organization, scheduling and implementing project activities) and performing data collection/coordination/quality control.

The annual base salary range for this position is $29.44- $35.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.

Coordinates and supervises work assignments ofother administrative personnel as assigned.
