Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. Senior Labor & Employee Relations Representative - Human Resources - Full Time 8 Hour Days

The Senior Labor & Employee Relations Representative will focus on the Labor and Employee Relations functions  for Keck Medical Center’s (KMC)  3000 + employees. This position will partner with   the Human Resources Administrator of KMC to conduct Labor and Employee  Relations activities including the administration and negotiation of collective bargaining agreements by working with management to develop negotiation proposals and strategies to meet KMC’s needs and goals.  This position will manage and conduct grievance hearings and   settlement conferences.  This position will develop and maintain relationships with both management and union to foster harmonious Labor and Employee Relations.

The Senior Labor & Employee Relations Representative should have the ability to objectively assess situations and effectively communicate l with all levels of employees.  This position will provide advice and counsel to KMC’s management, in various arenas, including employee performance issues, employee misconduct and the issuance of corrective action. This position will train, coach and service a variety of diverse customers including directors, managers and non-management staff.  

Minimum Education:
-Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resource Management, Labor Relations and/or Business Administration required.
-SHRM Certification preferred.
-Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
-5 -7 years experience in Labor Relations and Employee Relations required.
-Prior experience in a health care industry preferred.
-Proficient oral/written communication skills.
-Proficient in MS Office.
-Strong organizational, analytical/critical thinking, presentation and creative skills.
-Experience with unions and conducting employee investigations required.

Required License/Certification:
-Fire and Safety Certification required. If employee does not have card upon hire one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date.
