Keck Medicine of USC includes the Keck School of Medicine of USC, the region’s first medical school; the renowned USC Norris Comprehensive Cancer Center, one of the first comprehensive cancer centers established by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) in the United States; the USC Care Medical Group, a medical faculty practice; the Keck Medical Center of USC, which includes two acute care hospitals: 401-licensed bed Keck Hospital of USC and 60-licensed bed USC Norris Cancer Hospital; and USC Verdugo Hills Hospital, a 158-licensed bed community hospital. Senior Labor And Employee Relations Representative (salaried) - Human Resources - Full Time 8 Hour Day Shifts

Human Resources Employee & Labor Relations Hospital Los Angeles, California

Minimum Education:
Bachelor’s Degree required; preferably in Human Resource Management, or Business related field.
Master’s Degree preferred.

Minimum Experience/Knowledge:
3-5 years’ experience in Employee and/or Labor Relations required.
Prior experience in a health care industry preferred.
Proficient verbal/written communication skills.
Skill in writing concise, clear, relevant and persuasive documents, including correspondence, case analyses, investigative reports, settlement agreements.
Proficient in MS Office and applicable computer applications.
Strong organizational, analytical/critical thinking, presentation and creative skills.
Experience with unions and conducting employee investigations required.
Knowledge of employment laws, including FMLA/CFRA, Reasonable Accommodation, VAWA/CANRA, HIPAA, HEERA, FLSA/wage-hour laws, contract interpretation, EEOC/DFEH/DOJ requirements.
Experience in conducting investigations of harassment allegations, including sexual harassment, hostile work environment, discrimination, HIPAA, workplace behavior.
Ability to provide credible HR guidance to and influence management at all levels.
Proven experience coaching and counseling all levels of staff and management on a wide variety of employee/labor relations issues. Experience in interviewing employees and managers and investigating unit and non-unit employee-related situations.

Required License/Certification:
SHRM Certification preferred.
Fire and Safety Certification required. If employee does not have current Fire and Safety card upon hire one must be obtained within 30 days of the start date and maintained by renewal before the expiration date.
The Senior Labor & Employee Relations Representative will focus on the Labor and Employee Relations functions for select departments within Keck Medical Center (KMC) which consists of over (KMC) 5000 + employees. This position will partner with the Human Resources Manager of KMC to conduct Labor and Employee Relations activities including the administration and partnership during negotiation of collective bargaining agreements by working with management to develop negotiation proposals and strategies to meet KMC’s needs and goals. This position will manage and conduct grievance hearings and settlement conferences. This position will develop and maintain relationships with both management, employees and the unions to foster harmonious Labor and Employee Relations. The Senior Labor & Employee Relations Representative must have the ability to objectively assess, guide and solve all people related situations and effectively communicate with all levels of employees. In addition, this position serves as the escalation point for all HR related issues and will work with the HR Centers of Excellence to expeditiously resolve the issues. This position will provide advice and counsel to department management, in various arenas, including employee performance issues, employee misconduct and the issuance of corrective action. This position will guide, train, coach and support a variety of diverse customers including directors, managers and front line staff.
