Staff Perfusionist III
Apply Keck School of Medicine Los Angeles, CaliforniaUSC Department of Surgery recruiting a Staff Perfusionist III. The Staff Perfusionist III will provide all aspects of extracorporeal cardiopulmonary support for adult and pediatric patients, operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during any medical situation necessary to support or replace a patient’s own cardiopulmonary and circulatory functions and induce and reverse hypothermia and hyperthermia. The Staff Perfusionist III will also write, collect, and maintain documentation for each case, and ensure maintenance of all equipment and quality control.
The hourly rate range for this position is $79.15 - $92.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
Minimum Education: Specialized/technical training Minimum Experience: 7 years, Combined education/experience as substitute for minimum experience Minimum Field of Expertise: Seven years’ experience as an adult perfusionist. Graduate from school of perfusion technology accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP), or its predecessor, the American Medical Association’s (AMA) Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation (CAHEA). Certified Clinical Perfusionist (CCP) certification, or board eligible for certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (ABCP). Attends and completes all hospital-required safety training courses, and maintains ABCP certification, as well as certifications for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), basic life support (BLS), and/or basic cardio life support (BCLS). Demonstrated attention to details, and excellent interpersonal, analytical, problem-solving, and oral and written communication skills.
