Supervisor, Material Management - Materials Management - Full Time 8 Hour Rotating Shifts (Exempt) (Non-Union)
Apply Keck Medicine of USC Hospital Los Angeles, CaliforniaThe Materials Management Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehousing, shipping, receiving, and handling of materials. Supervises transport of materials to and from departments and ensures material needs are met throughout the organization.
Essential Duties:
- Ensure sound operational systems in purchasing, shipping and receiving, and distribution that compliment the delivery of care to the patient.
- Ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect the assets of the facility and control expenses.
- Ensures that proper inventory levels are maintained within the facility at levels that meet the need of nursing, ancillary and support department.
- Material Management is operating within budget.
- Coordinates and integrates department services on intradepartmental, interdepartmental, and facility levels.
- Establish and maintain performance improvement and quality control activities which support the department and the facility.
- Provides for orientation, training, and continuing education of staff.
- Monitor space/resource requirements and utilization of outside resources.
- Effectively supervises department staff to achieve optimal performance to meet the business needs of the facility, ensuring all financial and operational controls are followed.
- Ensures recommended orders are performed daily to maintain inventory levels with minimal stock-outs.
- Ensures cycle counts are performed daily for all omnicells and weekly for all IMMS inventory control locations. Reports findings to Director.
- Ensures that Kronos is done and reported daily.
- Schedules departmental meetings.
- Supports the goals, standards, and vision of the organization.
- Assist with review of daily supply charge reports.
- Assist with scheduling of staff.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by Director and /or Assistant Director.
Required Qualifications:
- Req High school or equivalent
- Req 3 years Material Management experience (preferably in a hospital setting).
- Req Demonstrates effectiveness in all facets of Materials Management, which include, but is not limited to, operational function of all systems, inventory control.
- Req Organization/time management skills.
- Req Able to function independently and as a member of a team.
- Req Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Req Leading/ guidance skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Pref Knowledge of computers and how they work in a Material Management setting.
Required Licenses/Certifications:
- Req Fire Life Safety Training (LA City) If no card upon hire, one must be obtained within 30 days of hire and maintained by renewal before expiration date. (Required within LA City only)
The annual base salary range for this position is $68,640.00 - $112,370.00.
