Webmaster and Digital Media Specialist

Communications Los Angeles, California

The USC Leonard Davis School of Gerontology is seeking a Webmaster/Digital Media Specialist to join its communications team. This person will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining school webpages. Provides specialized, technical support, assistance, and advice in the design, development and implementation of Web pages and interactive information delivery systems. The Webmaster/Digital Media Manager may also create multimedia content for USC Leonard Davis School websites and social media channels and will leverage appropriate measurement and optimization tools to evaluate and increase the reach of digital content. This position will also be responsible for implementing and maintaining a digital asset management system.

  • Responsible for both front-end design and back-end development and deployment of various web-based projects.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to determine a website's purpose, functionality, requirements, and long-term strategy.
  • Handle all aspects of website development including analysis, planning, testing, development, and maintenance.
  • Identify and apply the latest technology, best practices, strategies and tactics to the performance and evaluation of the school’s website and other digital outreach channels
  • Perform code-reviews and work with IT to ensure security and stability of websites.
  • Other duties as assigned

Our ideal candidate is experienced with CSS, CSS3, HTML, HTLM5, PHP, MySQL, JavaScript, cross-browser compatibility and FTP, database management systems and/or content management systems, basic graphic design, social media metrics and search engine optimization.

Minimum Education: Bachelor's degree, Combined work experience and education as equivalent
Minimum Experience: 2 years
Minimum Field of Expertise: Experience in Web page design, Web site management and Web graphic design. Knowledge of Web programming techniques and protocols. Knowledge of multiple operating systems.
