Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate - Center on Knowledge Graphs

Information Sciences Institute (ISI), a unit of USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering, is a world leader in the research and development of advanced information processing, computing, and communications technologies. ISI operates one of the world’s largest academic high-performance computing clusters. ISI has three research campuses:  one in Marina Del Rey, CA; one in Arlington, VA; and one in Waltham, MA.

The ISI Center On Knowledge Graphs seeks a Postdoctoral researcher to do research in our machine commonsense project. Our MOWGLI project, part of the DARPA Machine Commonsene program, is pursuing an approach that combines knowledge graphs and deep neural networks to answer commonsense questions and to provide a justification for its answers.

This is a one-year appointment, with possibility of extension.

A successful candidate will have a Ph.D. in Computer Science or related field and a strong publication record demonstrating creative work in machine learning, knowledge graphs or natural language processing.

The successful candidate will join a team of distinguished scientists from ISI, Stanford, MIT, UCI and RPI, will supervise Ph.D. students, and will work in a team of research programmers, Ph.D. and Master students to develop a state of the art machine commonsense reasoning engine. The successful candidate will publish in top journals and conferences, and collaborate with other researchers.

Minimum Education: Ph.D. in computer science or related field.
