Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate

Information Sciences Institute Marina del Rey, California

Information Sciences Institute (ISI), a unit of USC’s Viterbi School of Engineering, is a world leader in the research and development of advanced information processing, computing, and communications technologies. ISI operates one of the world’s largest academic high-performance computing clusters. ISI has three research campuses:  one in Marina Del Rey, CA, one in Arlington, VA, and one in Waltham, MA.

This position is located in Marina Del Rey, CA.

ISI is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar - Research Associate in the area of behavioral data mining. The successful candidate will have a strong mathematical background in statistical analysis, machine learning, network analysis, or other quantitative disciplines and, ideally, prior research experience in algorithms that are suitable for real-world behavioral data analysis. Applications areas of interest include, but are not limited to behavior analytics, social network analysis, and temporal data analysis.

The successful applicant is expected to contribute designing and developing new models and algorithms that operate on heterogeneous streaming data. This research is intrinsically multidisciplinary and qualified applicants with Ph.D.’s in any STEM field will be considered, although the preference will be given to applicants with relevant background and/or experience.
