The Department of Family Medicine of the Keck School of Medicine of USC provides care for every member of the family, across generations and over lifetimes. We aim to enhance the quality of life for underserved and vulnerable patients, while educating future generations of highly skilled, compassionate primary care specialists. Our goal is to combine education, patient advocacy, and evidence-based research to advance family medicine and geriatrics.

Keck School of Medicine of USC Street Medicine is hiring a full-time advanced practice provider (APP) to deliver services directly to patients experiencing homelessness in their own environment such as under bridges, in encampments and on the street. This is an exciting opportunity to pioneer the field of street medicine in Los Angeles, CA, home to the largest unsheltered homeless population in the United States. As part of a multi-disciplinary street medicine team, the APP will perform diagnostic, therapeutic, preventative and health maintenance services under the direction and supervision of a licensed physician approximately one day per week. In addition to direct patient care, the APP will assist the Director of Workforce Development and Education to develop and deliver street medicine and homeless healthcare training to prospective and current Street Medicine providers. The APP will also be expected to participate in ongoing program evaluation and research related to street medicine.

The ideal candidate has a demonstrated history of clinical experience in street medicine and prior teaching experience including guest lecturing or conference presentations. Prior research or evaluation experience is a plus but not required. We are looking a dependable, adaptable professional is passionate about street medicine and who thrives in dynamic environments and is comfortable being involved in multiple projects without sacrificing quality or attention to detail.

This is a full-time, position at the Alhambra, CA or Los Angeles, CA campus with a minimum of three days on campus, based on division needs. Travel is an expected component of this position which may, in rare circumstances, include weekends. This is a non-tenured position.

Preferred Education: current Advanced Practitioner License (PA, NP, etc.)
Preferred Experience: 3 years, experience working with the homeless population

Anticipated start date: January 2026

Salary range:  $137,000- $158,000
