The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices. Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most intractable educational problems.
The Adjunct Faculty member in the Physicians Leadership Certificate Program provides instructional support as a subject matter expert in healthcare system leadership to the USC Physician Leadership Program, a year-long hybrid course designed for department chairs and division chiefs in the hospital setting. The workload for this effort is 1 unit during academic year 2025-2026. The selected adjunct faculty member will provide instructional and program delivery support, including both online and in person sessions, administering logistics for student and faculty participation as may be required, and coordinating multimedia needs. Further, faculty will interface with students on an ongoing basis throughout the cohort term, providing guidance and feedback on their selected problems of practice within their professional field. The faculty member will prepare their own content and course materials, including the development of presentations, handouts, and toolkits. They will ensure that assigned readings comply with copyright regulations.
Adjunct Faculty: USC reserves the “Adjunct Faculty” appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty may teach one class each semester (summer, fall and spring).
The base salary range for this position is $2,427- $3,120 per course. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
