Keck School of Medicine, University of Southern California: Assistant Professor – Human Anatomy

The Department of Integrative Anatomical Sciences invites applications for a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the Assistant Professor level in the non-tenure Clinical track. The position will begin July 1, 2023 or shortly thereafter. Applicants must have a Ph.D. or equivalent degree and have prior experience teaching human gross anatomy to health professional students. The primary responsibility will be to fulfill the department’s obligation for continued excellence in teaching human anatomy in a dissection-based course with a clinical emphasis in an integrated medical curriculum. The successful applicant will also have teaching and advising responsibilities in the department’s M.S. and Ph.D. programs. Ability to contribute to the teaching of related anatomical sciences is desirable but not required (e.g., neuroanatomy, embryology, or histology). Applicants must also demonstrate a strong commitment to empirical scholarship in some area of the anatomical sciences and will be expected to develop and maintain a productive research program with the potential to attract extramural funding. We are especially interested in applications from scholars whose research complements that of the anatomy, histology, and neuroanatomy faculty within the department (Drs. Kristian Carlson, Adam Huttenlocker, Tea Jashashvili, Addison Kemp, Myra Laird, Kristi Lewton, Craig McGowan, Biren Patel, Erik Seiffert, Ruth Wood). Interested applicants are invited to begin their inquiry with the IAS website (https://keck.usc.edu/integrative-anatomical-sciences/), and questions for more information can be addressed to the Search Committee Chair, Dr. Erik Seiffert (anatomy.usc@gmail.edu).

Apply here and upload a cover letter; curriculum vitae; statement of teaching experience; summary of research interests, accomplishments, and future plans; and contact information for 3-5 professional references including e-mail addresses (reference letters are not required at the time of application submission). In addition to the formal online submission process, applicants should send a copy of their submitted application materials (as a single PDF document) directed to Dr. Erik Seiffert, USC Anatomy Search Committee, at anatomy.usc@gmail.com. Applications should be submitted by September 15, 2022 to receive full consideration. The position will remain open until filled.
