Budget/Business Technician

USC Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work is looking for an The Budget/Business Technician to support the Finance Department. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Manage procurement activities, ranging from creating a requisition to closing of POs, for materials / supplies and equipment for faculty, staff, and student projects, as well as research operations.
- Process reimbursements and travel expenses for department personnel and visitors.
- Track and receive orders, in addition to reviewing MyViterbi PORT and Workday receipts of incoming items.
- Work with Asset Management to tag new equipment purchased with department funds.
- Coordinate facilities requests and manage equipment maintenance in instructional and research labs.
- Collaborate with internal and external vendors to streamline procurement and ensure timely payment of vendors.
- Schedule catering and facilitate payment to vendors for department events.
- Assist with gift processing, donations, and deposits.
- Reconcile purchases, track expenses, and process journals related to purchasing.
- Perform other related duties as assigned to support the department’s financial and operational needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
The hourly rate range for this position is $23.10 - $28.76. Preferred Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree in business administration, accounting, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of experience in office financial management, including budgeting, accounts payable, and reconciliations.
- Proficiency in university systems such as Workday and Concur.
- Strong Excel skills and experience with financial reporting.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
