Postdoctoral Scholar Research Associate

USC’s Keck School of Medicine, Department of Medicine, has a Postdoctoral fellow position available in the laboratory of Dr. Evanthia Roussos Torres in the Department of Medicine at USC. The focus of Dr. Roussos Torres lab includes but is not limited to modulating myeloid derived suppressor cell function to alter response to checkpoint inhibition; accounting for heterogeneity of the suppressive immune microenvironment according to tumor site; investigation of novel therapeutics targeting immunosuppressive cells; and racial disparities of the immune response in breast cancer.
The ideal candidate should possess excellent communication and writing skills. Job duties for this position include:
Plans and conducts highly technical and complex research projects, procedures, and analyses, including working with vivo mouse models, dosing mice with experimental drugs under study, harvesting animal tissues for study using Flow cytometry.
Analyzes and evaluates research data requiring significant knowledge of a specialized area of research. Maintains accurate records.
Contributes to the development of research documentation for publication and/or prepares technical reports and papers.
Identifies, researches, compiles, and evaluates data sources and background information in area of specialization to enhance planning and design of experiments.
Stays current in field of specialization through coursework, reading journals and scientific papers, maintaining professional networks, and attending seminars and conferences as appropriate.
Prospective candidates should be highly motivated, enthusiastic about science, with an ability to think and plan project experiments. Candidate should demonstrate good organizational skills and be able to work in a team environment. Candidates with molecular biology, immunology and work experience with mice are strongly encouraged to apply.
Rate Information:
This position will be Exempt and Hybrid-Flex.
The salary for this position is $70,000.00 - $70,000.00
