Research Lab Technician I

Job Description

The Research Lab Tech I reports to Dr. Ha Youn Lee and works as part of a research team. This person will provide general laboratory assistance to support her lab research activities. Dr. Lee’s lab is studying HIV intrahost evolution by combining next-generation sequencing of viral genome, mathematical modelings, and statistical inferences. This individual will perform bioinformatics analysis and assist in mathematical and statistical modeling efforts. This is a good opportunity to engage in clinical research and master bioinformatics pipelines for analyzing next-generation sequencing data. Cutting-edge next-generation sequencing is being actively applied to a wide range of medical research. Effective oral and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills are required.

The hourly rate range for this position is $13.22 - $22.00. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state, and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
