Clinical Data Analyst

The USC Keck School of Medicine - Alzheimer Therapeutic Research Institute (ATRI), located in San Diego, California is an academic institute comprised of an expert team of scientific collaborators committed to advancing the development of new treatments for Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) through innovative clinical trials.
Throughout our Institute the study teams are highly collaborative and are comprised of the lead scientist, ATRI faculty, biostatisticians, data managers, project managers, regulatory, system developers, and industry partners.
The Clinical Data Analyst is a data driven position.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 1.5 years of experience in clinical trials within a pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic clinical research institute, along with a solid understanding of databases.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with the lead Data Manager and Data analysts to perform User Acceptance Testing (UAT) on the Data Management System as per the Edit Check Specifications.
- Perform data review, data cleaning, query generation in the data management systems and follow-up until queries are properly closed.
- Performs external lab and Imaging data reconciliations.
- Contributes to the development of study documentation development such as the User Acceptance Plan, Data Entry Manual, Data Management Plan, Post Entry Check specification and other study document as required.
- Maintains complete and auditable documentation of all Post Entry Checks activities.
- Performs eTMF review and loading of study documentations in the eTMFs.
- Identifies eCRFs and lab query trends and propose solutions to minimize the issues.
- Liaison with the clinical team such as the CRAs, Project manager and clinical sites.
- May contribute to site training and onboarding process.
- Contribute to the database launch, maintenance, and database lock under the direction of the Lead Data Manager.
- Contribute to continuous process improvement and process optimization initiatives.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Minimum of (1.5) years of on hands Clinical Data Management experience preferred
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience with Electronic Data Capture (EDC) systems
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, required
- Experience with AI tools (ChatGPT, Copilot, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal and communication
- Outstanding organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
- Knowledge of database-related tools (e.g., SQLite, MySQL)
- R, R Studio, Python scripting/programming experience in a Data Analyst role preferred
The hourly rate range for this position is $26.77 - $34.13.
