Professor in Organic Chemistry

The Department of Chemistry in the Dana and David Dornsife College of Letters, Arts, and Sciences at the University of Southern California (USC) invites applicants for a tenured position in Organic Chemistry, at the level of Full Professor, to start in Fall 2025 or later. Our goal is also to fill the Harold E. & Lillian M. Moulton Organic Chemistry Chair associated with the USC Loker Hydrocarbon Research Institute. Candidates should have a PhD and accomplished academic experience as Full Professors. We are interested in candidates in all areas of broad experimental organic chemistry, including synthesis, catalysis, mechanistic and sustainable chemistry.

The annual base salary range for this nine-month position is $171,000 - $277,970. When extending an offer of employment, the University of Southern California considers factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, federal, state and local laws, contractual stipulations, grant funding, as well as external market and organizational considerations.
